I grew up playing orchestral music in the church and have served full-time in music ministry since 1999. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Master of Music Education from Boston University. I’ve been writing and arranging for instrumental groups in the church since my early college days and have arrangements and orchestrations published by Word Music, Lillenas, Prism Music, Hal Leonard and Lifeway.
I married the love of my life in 2011, and Jan and I make our home in northeast Houston where I serve as Minister of Instrumental Music at Houston’s First Baptist Church. We have an amazing daughter, Piper, who is God’s answer to LOTS of fervent prayer and is such a blessing to our lives.
In my spare time (when I’m not having a tea party or watching an impromptu fashion show – did I mention our daughter?), you might find me playing trumpet, writing orchestral music, barbecuing, doing crosswords, over-analyzing movies, or traveling with my family.
