Brand new in 2024! A film-score inspired version of the classic hymn that your group will love playing! The energetic opening with horns stating the melody over a string ostinato (doubled by clarinets and piano), leads to a soaring second verse in a hip half-time feel. Verse three changes to a 6/4 feel and features solos for the woodwinds (piccolo/flute, and a short trio of oboe with two clarinets) accompanied by pizzicato strings (also doubled by piano) The chart concludes by returning to the original feel for a majestic final verse and ending. Although the audio demo has full rhythm section, this arrangement also works well without guitars and drums.
